  3. Mar 1, 2022

I've been married for almost 2 years. I can't get anyone to help me change my name. I've called multiple times no one will help me.

  4. Feb 17, 2022

Been calling for three days and no one answers.

  5. Jan 20, 2022

When you do send in all the necessary paperwork, it gets sent back with no accomplishing action taken.

  6. Jan 4, 2022

Can't get anyone to answer the phone. Been married for over a month and my wife can't even get her name changed because these people won't answer the phone, or come to the door at the office.

  7. Dec 29, 2021

I've had countless issues with this office, I submit my spouse's pay stubs under my account and representatives can never find them in the system (later found out they were being submitted under his name even though he doesn't receive benefits), I submit my stubs and they never get inputted. Every year after I do a review I get charged for an over-payment. To say this is aggravating is an understatement. SSI office has a full staff and yet they're either lazy or disorganized.

  8. Dec 20, 2021

The recording says the hold time can be up to 15 minutes then after that it either starts to ring or there is just sounds of some beeps then I get hung up on.

  9. Dec 16, 2021

As others are saying, the service is the worst I have ever experienced. Representative payee appointments have to be done in person but it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone at this office. I've spent HOURS trying to reach someone. 'We're looking forward to talking to you. Your wait time may be up to 15 minutes.' Then you hear elevator music alternating to a voice warning you of scams. After a long hold, you hear silence, then a beep, like for an answering machine, followed by a different voice saying simply, 'Thank you for calling the Amarillo Social Security office.' Then it's back to elevator music. That message repeats every minute or so until you finally hear a final beep followed by silence.

This branch is the worst that I know to date, no one answers the phone and they mainly leave you on voicemail. I called with a different number and I got an answer immediately, after using that same number it goes straight to voicemail. This branch needs to be fixed and re-organized. WAITING FOR 6 MONTHS?! ISN'T THIS PATIENT ENOUGH?

  11. Sep 29, 2021

I called over 3 weeks ago to request a form to change my married so I could get remarried and carry my soon to be new husband's name. I have not received any thing in the mail. Then I called again 7 days ago for the same form and still nothing. I'm very upset about this, cannot understand how I can get mail from Georgia quicker then I can in Amarillo Texas where I live now.

  12. Sep 27, 2021

I have been trying to contact the Amarillo office for 3 months now without any success. They won't answer the phone! I need to have an in-person appointment to complete the service I need and it has been a nightmare so far. They state that we can leave a message and they will call back; I did so and I am still waiting... Now, I have called repeatedly to attempt to talk to someone and all I get is endless waiting time with bad quality music and messages and a hang up after about 20+ minutes of nothing. This is so aggravating. If I were to provide this type of service at my job I would be fired.

  13. Aug 30, 2021

  14. Jul 9, 2021

I've been attempting to schedule an appointment but no one is answering the phone. I've been on hold for as much as 30 minutes and then the phone hangs up. I need to change my last name. How do I contact someone?

  15. May 27, 2021

I need to get a new Social security card and wanted to see if I could get the application emailed to me?

  16. May 21, 2021

Please let me know how to contact someone to make an appointment to get my name changed on my social security card. When I call the number it went to someone I could hear background noise but they would not answer the phone.

  17. May 10, 2021

I need to change my name and do not want to send my drivers license and such to do it. So I have been waiting for them to open and I cannot believe they are still closed. You are an IMPORTANT office for many people needing more things that are more important than my situation. Everyone else has opened and has learned to function in this difficult time. This is absolutely ridiculous! It always doesn't help when I call the office they are always rude and stand offish. I always see that its a nationwide thing but why should that matter! Seriously!

  18. Apr 29, 2021

Been waiting over a month for my social security card replacement and they’ve had my drivers license this entire time because they wouldn’t take anything else. FINALLY received my new social security care, oh but guess what? They did NOT send my drivers license back with it! So I’ve been without a drivers license for over a Month. Oh let’s STAY closed even though EVERYTHING is back open again!

  19. Apr 22, 2021

I need to apply for my social security payments to start.

  20. Apr 7, 2021

I have tried to call mini times to schedule an appointment or some thing I keep getting hung up on and can’t get through to anybody.

  21. Mar 16, 2021

I continue to call this number and it just rings multiple times, then tells me thank you for calling and hangs up. How you supposed to speak with a representative if they hang up on you.

  22. Mar 8, 2021

How do I change or correct my name on my Social Security number card? If you legally change your name due to marriage, divorce, or any other reason, you need to go to your local office.

  23. Jan 21, 2021

You all really need to fire the male rep that you have that is disconnecting his calls and refusing to help at all with anyone. When there are more then 10 people with similar stories and issue's it should be raising red flags for those in charge. I will be filling a formal written complaint in regards to the Amarillo office with the Commission's office.

  24. Dec 17, 2020
