Tried for three hours to get through to someone at Social Security called the Apache Junction office was on hold for over an hour, kept ringing and ringing finally take it kept saying to be on hold and then it would click over to music and then it would just ring and then it rang and rang for a good 20 minutes and then finally it just disconnected me. How can I get through to someone at Social Security?

I had to charge my phone twice. I logged just under 4 hours of hold time with 3 calls. First person told me to download the forms I needed from the site. Site won't allow that stating a rep must fill them out for me. When I called back & finally got a person, she was helping me & put me on hold. Of course, I was disconnected instead. Third time I called this 'How to make an appointment' number so somebody can help me get these filled out. After an incredibly long hold time, the person I got told me I had to call my local office to make an appointment. My benefits stopped because I didn't get the forms mailed to me.

After many hours on the phone to various locations, we finally found someone named Vicky (or Vicki) at this location ,who completely answered our questions and was able to finalize all of our issues and paperwork. We are relieved and thankful that someone took the time to assist us to our satisfaction! We were very appreciative of her efforts and patience.

Tried calling this office multiple times today and on hold for well over 30 minutes then disconnected. Applied online for social security. Got e-mail for information I am not familiar with and would like to schedule an appointment or at the very least, receive a call back.

  17. May 18, 2021

I sent my driver license and marriage certificate the “original ones” in April 29th 2021. I have already talked with social security in Idaho and they said they keep them for like three days and send them back pretty fast. I am going without a driver license and have not received my original marriage license back and I am frustrated with SS no one answers and this government stuff has got to open I am so mad.

I was on hold for 35 minutes - then system hung up with no one ever answering. I called back. 40 minutes later the message said “we are sorry this is taking so long, we will connect you with an agent and phone then rang for going on 2 minutes. Ringing stopped and a couple minutes later you hung up on me a second time.

In November 2020 ,I sent my original documents to this office with a return receipt (certified mail). I received receipt 2 weeks later. December I received my originals back with no letter or new card. (Name change). I called Friday, February 5,2021 and representative at Apache junction office stated I was denied because I sent copies. I sent originals. This Apache junction office had scanned my original documents and sent to Tatum office and returned my documents to me. Then Tatum denies me with no letter or notification. Why in the world would one office send copies to Tatum office when they know originals are required. I have been waiting almost 4 months and now I am told this unbelievable news.

  21. Jan 29, 2021

I called today to see what I needed to do because my husband died. The first time that I called I waited for 24 minutes and then got disconnected. I called back and waited 7 minutes. This about noon today. The lady was very courteous and took my information. She put my name on the board and told me that someone would be calling me. She then said that someone picked up my request and she needed to hung up because they were going to call right now. She told me to stay right by my phone. No one ever ever called me. I just called and the office is now closed. I think that who ever was supposed to call me could have called me in those 4 hours

  36. Mar 7, 2019

I want to give a HUGE thank you to the Apache Junction office. Somehow my Mom's SS status had been accidentally changed to deceased, and needless to say, she was distraught. We got to the office early, everyone was very friendly and helpful... even holding her arm to keep her steady while I retrieved some things from our car. Given the part of town, I know dealing with Seniors can be a struggle, but they all showed compassion and encouragement. Our person, Maria, was so kind.. and of course, fixed the issue. Well done and thank you again!
