There is no one to answer the phone @ 1-800-772-1213 and only get a recorded message saying there is no one to answer my phone call but this is the only way to schedule an appointment.

  2. Apr 1, 2022

I have been trying to call the Bellevue office for 1 week to schedule an appointment. I have left messages, sent 2 faxes and still no response. THis office always has the worst customer service.

  3. Mar 17, 2022

Was told on the phone that the Bellevue office is closed for all services except for getting a new SSN, but will reopen again on Apr 1 2022. Called Seattle and they told me they can't serve people out of area/district, strict rule. So technically, if you live on the eastside there hasn't been any SSN office available for you for a while now. We needed to update a long forgotten citizen status change for our now college searching teen, and until updated that is causing all kinds of havoc on her applications. And no walk-ins anywhere on top of that!? Sigh, unfathomable.

  4. Mar 15, 2022

Tried calling them 4-5 times. Kept me waiting for 15~20 mins during each call. Finally gave up. This is so pathetic

  5. Feb 28, 2022

I called the SSN at Bellevue around 3:30pm. I was on hold for about 12 to 15 mins but was able to speak to the agent. And I was able to get an appointment 4 weeks out. This is for a new SSN card. The process was pretty straightforward, for me at least!

  6. Feb 24, 2022

I have been on hold for over an hour to try and get an appointment. Reading comments from others while I wait. Since 2020, they have used COVID as an excuse to keep their offices closed, while essential workers continued to deliver goods and services; by this logic, they are proving themselves non-essential. However, the negative comments below appear well before the pandemic.

  7. Feb 23, 2022

It has been 4 hours, I am trying to get an appointment but nobody answer my phone call. Bellevue,WA location.

  8. Feb 1, 2022

Unable to reach anyone via phone, although that is what is required to make an appointment. After reading comments, feel its useless to drive there to make one.

  9. Jan 25, 2022

Can’t get anyone on the phone for over 3 weeks for trying to call ALL DAY. In a desperate attempt went to the building to try and get an extension number or some other type of information for help and the guard rudely rushed me away. Please properly staff your offices. I can get ahold of someone at the Seattle or Renton offices - however they cannot service my area code. They have sent emails on my behalf but still no phone call.

  10. Jan 21, 2022

Have not heard from anyone about my name change for 9 months. why I'm not able to connect with anyone after being on hold for two+ hours multiple times?

  11. Jan 13, 2022

I'm on hold with music for fifteen minutes then rings for fifteen minutes then click the call drops. It's imperative I change my direct deposit which you are not allowed to do online.

  12. Jan 1, 2022

    I like the place on-site

  13. Dec 6, 2021

I am calling the Bellevue SSN Office for the SSN of my daughter, who recently got a Green card. No one answer the call. Every time I call, I am on hold for more than 30 min & then the phone hangs up!

  14. Dec 6, 2021

  15. Nov 29, 2021

I have tried to make an appointment but no one answers the phone on your end.. How do I make an appointment with Social Security. Several other people showed up at the door in Bellevue and were also not being able to set up an appointment...

  16. Nov 22, 2021

So far no luck. Called federal number to track down the SS card I was supposed to receive in the mail in 3 weeks' time but hadn't seen any sign of yet. Rep there referred me to this one saying I have to call to set up an in-person appointment to apply for a SSN for my newborn because they couldn't find any record of the filing from the hospital/birthing center. First day I tried, I got kicked from the call queue at around 20 minutes. Second day, I was able to leave a voicemail message with my contact info for a call back within 24 hours. Waited. Either they were too shy to leave me a voicemail message when they called back or they didn't call back within 24 hours. On the third attempt, I was again kicked from the call queue at around 20 minutes. Came here to read the reviews and find that I'm not the only one. Sounds like this might be by design. Would love to be able to get my newborn / infant on insurance (need his SSN to do that, unfortunately) so he can start getting the care he's now overdue for (e.g. first appointment with the pediatrician at the 2-month mark, vaccinations, etc.).

  20. Jun 21, 2021

I want to ask you one thing. I got calling from a guy, he said he was a social security officer, and asked me what my social security number is. Now I understand this is fraud calling but I told the guy my social security number. Is there any problem? Please advise.

This is How to make an appointment - Call 1-800-772-1213 (or a local office number if they have one) between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call the phone number as early as possible or after 6pm. When the office is open, a representative will give you a call back. Set up your appointment.

  22. Apr 20, 2021

2 phone call attempts so far to ask a question: 1) first attempt: after 18 min 24 seconds went to voicemail which was full and hung up on me 2) second attempt: answered after 19 min 28 seconds but 'Bill' didn't know how to help and refused to send an email to anyone trying to find out how to help 3) About to try again but I have little hope

  23. Apr 16, 2021

  24. Apr 14, 2021

I am a new immigrant, May I have an appointment in person to apply for a new SSN?

  25. Mar 11, 2021

Hello everyone. What is the average time of attention in your offices since the appointment request? Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

  26. Mar 4, 2021

I was told by SS that there would be a dropbox at my SS office to leave documents. There is not one at the Bellevue location. You must call to make an appointment. When I called the number nobody answered and left no info about leaving a message. Two others were there, trying to drop items off, too. Probably not the best customer service.

  27. Feb 16, 2021

I have been calling to check how we can apply for SSN for my wife who received her Employment authorization. Have tried calling multiple times and been on wait line for more than 20 mins each time and then just a hung up.. no voice from other end, nobody responds. We did select the option to have USCIS inform SSN to issue SSN but its been more than the expected 2-3 weeks (its been 7 weeks now) and we have not heard anything. In absence of walk in to apply new SSN, I am not sure how to go about it.

  28. Feb 2, 2021

Where is my Social Security Replacement Card? I mailed my application along with my original passport to the Bellevue Office on January 6, 2021 and I have not heard back. It is almost one month now. When will you return my passport along with a new replacement Social Security Card? I live in the town next to you in Sammamish. Should I call my two senators of WA state? Who should I call to get an answer? I am willing to report this situation to local news outlets.

Surly people, some of them not doing anything at all. No value placed on your time, no courtesy. 3 hours after I left the office I got a call saying my social security number, has been cancelled. Pretty bad service after paying in for since 1968. Really bad people there.
