Why can't anyone answer the phone at this office? online says you need an appointment, but when you call this office you are automatically transferred to the national number.

  2. Jul 12, 2022

I need to make an appointment for a replacement SA card for my 3 children. I’ve tried calling multiple times and no answer.

  3. Feb 14, 2022

No matter what time of day you call you can NEVER get thru to speak to someone. I've been waiting on my retro active backpay for over 4 mths now. And keep getting the run-around.

  4. Jan 20, 2022

I have been trying to call this office for two months and it just rings and rings and rings....really frustrating. I can't go there without an appointment so how can I ever speak to anyone? I called this office about 6 months ago and someone picked up within a minute and was very helpful. I don't know what's changed, but they need to fix it NOW.

  5. Jan 17, 2022

After waiting almost 2 months to get my documents back, I finally received my documents yesterday afternoon in the mail. I'm happy for their work, you just have to be patience with them. Thanks to the young man from the social security office.

Impossible to take care of business over the phone for what I need - their rule, not mine. Can't get through to a real person, can't go to their office and can't make appointments online. IF you are lucky enough to have your call answered, appointments are so hard to come by that reps cannot even schedule appointments on their calendars. I have to call back in a few days when their calendars add days in the future for scheduling. What business would survive if customers were treated this way?

The Social Security office in Conroe needs to open so we can take care of our business . It’s a shame you have to work for 40 years and can’t get into the Social Security office because of government. We are beyond all excuses now the Social Security office needs to open they say to make an appointment on line you can’t do it then they tell you to call them they don’t answer this is depressing

I have tried several times to reach someone in the SS office. I finally reached someone to explain my situation and that I faxed the information to SS but never heard back. They told me the best way to handle it would be to drive there and drop it in the mail slot. It has been over a month and I still have not heard back from anyone. This is so frustrating.

I just attempted to contact this office in regards to my grandmother's SS benefits. She is in hospice with Alzheimer's at 90y/o and I have been her guardian for 6 years now. I needed to update something and they said I needed to become a payee. So I have been trying to get that done for 4 mos. I can never get anyone on the phone and the times i do I get told something different every time. We are in the state of Texas these offices need to be open. These are govt offices. The lady i spoke to today was rude and hung up on me when i was trying to explain that i had already done everything she was asking me to do and the timelines she was giving me were not accurate. she got rude and i asked if this call was being recorded and if she could give me her name again and who was her supervisor. She hung up. Government work at it's finest. Both my grandmother and I are tax payers and i am her court appointed legal guardian. You all need to learn customer service.

  13. Jun 11, 2021

I have 4 grandchildren whose mother lost their Social Security Card. In order to get a Driver's license for two of them, we need their Social Security Card. We have dropped off the forms at the SS Admin in Conroe, Texas box inside the office as instructed, and today have not received the same. Please advise me if there is a way we can come in and speak with a live person.

  14. Jun 10, 2021

I’ve tried calling multiple times in three different days and I could not get a hold of anyone to answer the phone. I need to make an appointment to come in to get my name change and proof my US citizenship. I mailed twice all my information including my passport booklet and still unable to get my application process.

  15. Jun 3, 2021

Applied for last name update for my wife in February 2021, she finally received it ini late march and discovered that her name was spelled incorrectly, we sent back the original SS card on April 9 2021 and indicated the spelling was incorrect Now is June 2021, we have yet to received the replacement We called and lady answered condescendingly saying that there is no record of receiving a letter from us, so either she is lying, tossing the letter to a trash can or US Postal lost our letter instead of assisting us she hung up on us

  16. May 25, 2021

They filled all wrong they gave to me the same SS number of my twin sister, now I have a big problem.

  17. May 21, 2021

I mailed a waiver of overpayment request to your office via Certified Mail. The USPS attempted deliverybut we're unable to get anyone to receive and sign for it. This is horrible customer service! Why wasn't delivery accepted?

  18. May 21, 2021

NEVER answers the telephone. I have called numerous times

  19. Apr 30, 2021

Do I need to make an appt for a name change or do I mail all documents to your location?

  20. Apr 10, 2021

Horrible. I sent in my and my children's passports and the kids' birth certificates via certified mail. I followed the mail on the USPS app so I KNOW they received it and it was signed for. However, they never sent me my passports or birth certificates back. They claim they would have sent it back the same way it was sent to them (certified) but I never received anything and never signed for anything. I am the only adult in this house. I am a widow who had to move from Canada to live in the USA. I'm trying to get my kids social security. Now I'm burdened with replacing everything, hopefully in time for my kids to see their grandparents again before they pass away as well. They are unhelpful and are causing me more grief than I need.

  21. Mar 1, 2021

Why is so hard to get hold yall

  22. Feb 22, 2021

    How do I report income?

  23. Feb 2, 2021

Very poor service, for lack of better words. The office worker i was talking to rudely hung up on me when I was asking questions. Then every time I called back i was hung up on after waiting on hold. I called back a total of 5 times before speaking with another representative. My legal documents were shredded, after jumping through hoops just to get them in the first place. They also didn't send back my other legal documents that were not shredded (hopefully) Each person I have talked to has given me contradicting information about what to do. This office is highly unorganized, rude, and impatient when speaking on the phone with you. Ive waited months on end to get my business handled. I cringe at the fact that I have to trust these cunts to handle sensitive information. They either need new training, or need to hire new people.

  24. Jan 28, 2021

Can you schedule an appointment on line or just by phone?

  25. Jan 13, 2021

Just curious is the only options for getting a social security card replacement forms online? Or is there a way to be seen in person but I'm sure you need an appointment.

  26. Jan 12, 2021

This office does not function well at all. They hang up on you after you have been on hold forever. I filled out the necessary documents and sent in all my legal documents such as ID, shot records and medical records. I received my ID back and a letter saying something along the lines of 'they have sent back all my legal documents. Services may be slowed down due to COVID-19. We can't use documents that aren't legal' im just paraphrasing here. The thing is, I did NOT receive all my legal documents back! They still have my children's shot and medical records! I really hope they aren't saying they weren't legal documents! I PAID for those things and they are signed and stamped! I had to Jump through hoops for those things. I surely hope they didn't just chunk them in the garbage. I haven't received anymore mail from them, and I cant get them on the phone to inquire about my other papers they didn't send back. This is ridiculous. How can you work an important government job and not know how to properly do it? These people need training or something. I'm usually not the impatient type, nor the type to write reviews. But this is ridiculous, and i want my documents back.

  31. Nov 20, 2020

I called to try to solve a problem with my Medicare Premium billing statement. It says on the bill to call social security if there is a problem. After talking to 3 areas, I was referred to Medicare. After spending several hours ( both on hold and talking to various people including the ARC) I was asked to call social security because they sent the faulty information to Medicare which caused the problem in the first place. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone at social security. It would be so convenient to have e-mail access or be able to talk to someone.

  32. Oct 21, 2020

They really care, and try to help you here.Ms. Weber is very caring.

  33. Oct 15, 2020

My wife calls today at 3:32pm to check on the status of a Social Security Card that we applied for back in January 2020 for our adopted son. She is put on hold while they look into the issue. At 3:57, three minutes before they close, someone picks up the line just for a split second so they can hang up on her.

  34. Sep 22, 2020

  44. Feb 20, 2020

I called three times yesterday and three times today 2-19-20 and was put on hold for 15 minutes, then when the phone picked up there was no answer, just dead silence. Not a very professional way to run a Government office. Really dissatisfied with the service. I have better things to do than waist my time on a holding pattern with no results. Dr, Carl Hogue Veterans Administration Chaplain. PS: Tried again with the same results. We'er looking forward to speaking to you... Really? Not from how I was attended to by the automated system. Ugh

  45. Nov 18, 2019

Why in the world with the way things are in the world right now would you ask someone to put in their SS # in view of any person. Making someone back up does not stop those sitting around you not look.

I am a legal Michigan resident who has recently married a Texas resident and am currently living in Texas until about 5/1, when I will be returning home. I want to change my name to my husbands name. Do I need an appointment at the Conroe Social Security office to do this or can I just walk in? My SS card is in my safe in Michigan, so that is not available. I do have a legal Michigan Drivers License, a current passport and the marriage certificate to prove who I am. Please advise as I would like to be able to change my name on all my files, i.e., bank accounts, credit cards, irs files, etc. Thanking you in advance for your prompt reply.
