My 90 year old mother is trying to get information on how to claim the whopping $255 death benefit for her husband and to claim his higher benefit for herself and to set an appointment to do all this at the Prescott office. Hours on hold only to be told to try again later. Unacceptable. This is not the SSA employees fault, they are obviously under staffed. When so many people in this country need jobs, how can this be. I have contacted the Biden-Harris Administration to ask them to hire more people. In the mean time, she needs assistance. Shameful to put grieving people through this.

I am just sitting outside their office right now. On hold now for 40 minutes waiting for them to answer the phone in order to make an appointment.. I was on hold for 54 minutes yesterday.

  3. Feb 9, 2022

I've tried calling to make an appointment several times and I am put on hold, until eventually the call will just drop. I am not quite sure what to do as I need to get a SSN in order to start my new job. I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service.

On hold for over 30 minutes and no one answer. Call back and it states all representatives are busy and hangs up. Poor customer service.

I need a new Social Security card. I recently remarried. I completed the form for a new SS card. Do I send a copy of marriage certificate? Can it be mailed local office or dropped off?

Very poor service. Prescott office is only offering services via appointments and attempts to call in to make an appointment you only get a recording and it tells you all'representatives are busy try again later'. So what good is an Office in Prescott when you can only get service by appointment and the ability to make an appointment is via a phone number that only has a recording that tell you they are busy and to try again later, after 15 attempts still can not make an appointment. The recording does say you can go to the SS Admin web site but you cannot make an appointment there. To SS Administrators the year is 2021 and technology offers the ability to on web pages the ability to schedule appointments.

Hi there. My mother-in-law just called to speak with an agent to try to set up an appointment for me, for disability. But she was told the connection was bad. I continue to try to call, when I push 0 to speak to an agent, I’m told no one is available. How can I reach the local office?

  8. Jun 1, 2021

I'm trying to call the Prescott office and when I select Zero to speak to the next available agent the recording says unable to complete the call and hangs up.

Called Prescott SS Office to make an appointment regarding the fact someone has stolen SS # and need to verify and report the fraud. They would not make an appointment or discuss the fraud. They said SS doesn't do anything with this and to contact the IRS. They said to call the police. They will not verify whether a name is attached to the social or they are aware this is happening. Unable to make an online SS account because identity can't be verified due to this fraud. Also, requested an activation code from SS which they never sent. He was not willing to help with this as well today. Also, to obtain a copy of social security card you have to mail in your driver's license with the application ('we can't legally tell you to drive without it') - it will take 3 to 6 weeks for them to return your driver's license. If you cannot send your DL then you can go to your doctor and have your doctor verify your identity, write a letter which you can submit. It will take 3 to 6 weeks to get your social security card. So it seems the SS does not need to know if someone is using your social security number. Does anyone else find this disturbing? You should.

Just so you know, and you already know, your system of helping people is BAD. You can't get anyone to ever answer. Come on, I would even come to work for ss to help people. All I need is to get Medicare B added to me, so I can get into seeing a doctor. But you guys know how to get anything done in timely factor.

This office is great. They have been extremely helpful and I appreciate it very much . Been dealing with some problems since October 2020 and I called this office in Prescott and they are the only ones who have figured out the problem and are fixing it. Thank you Prescott field office!

    Always great service. Thank you

  15. Dec 7, 2020

I got a letter in the mailbox today saying that my ssi disability wass denied again. This time it said it was denied because when they called me I said I didn't want it. Well that is a fold face out right lie. I never got any phone call or any other kind of of contact from anyone. This just proves to me the all of you government EMPLOYEES don't want to give back to those who have paid in their whole life. If you don't want to do your job and make the calls you're supposed to make you shouldn't be working there. My review gave one star because there's no way to give a zero.

I need to update my user name and password for my social security account. Can I do this online or do I need to make an appointment. I would like to reset with new user name and password. I have tried to get access but have had no success when I try.

I mailed all original documents ATTN: Stacy! She said it would only be around two days. However it has been around 7 days. I can't drive because I don't have my drivers license. I don't have my birth certificate and need to get my new drivers license and new social security number. There has all of the original documents.
