I called today to check on my IRMAA paperwork that had been sent in 7 weeks ago. Although my paperwork was being handled by the Nashville office, Ashley was able to confirm the that it had been assigned to someone. That gave us peace of mind that we didn't need to resend the paperwork. I just wanted to compliment Ashley on her professionalism and her willingness to go the extra mile to get us an answer.

I would like an appointment to speak to an agent.

They don’t answer their phones whatsoever, my wife has been on hold for an hour, they pick up the phone and hang up on you every time, they screwed us over on getting her new social because we were told the wrong information now have to wait a month for it to come in the mail.

Wow is all i can say. I am in the business of assisting people and this office is beyond rude and unhelpful. The people do not listen nor do they hear what is being said, they talk all over and they ask the same questions over and over again because they do not listen. I sent in all my information according to the website and she says well we cant take it. What do you mean? Insane, how do these people have jobs.

I had an appointment yesterday for my children and myself from my husband passing, the appointment was supposed to be at 11 and I waited until 130 before I started calling them from the missed appointment on their side. Over 7 phone calls ranging anywhere from 13 min to 40 min, each and every call resulted in some sort of disconnection on their air while never once reaching a live person. Aggravating and a waste of time.

VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF AT THIS LOCATION. WAS MET AT THE DOOR BY A VERY RUDE SECURITY GUARD THEN CALLED THE NUMBER TO GET A APT AND WAS TALKED TO LIKE I HAD A 3RD GRADE EDUCATION. EVERYTHING ON THE WEBSITE SAYS YOU HAVE TO APPLY IN PERSON IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CHANGE YOUR NAME ON YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD DUE TO MARRIAGE. I HAD ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS WITH PAPERS FILLED OUT AND WAS STILL TURNED AWAY, REALLY DONT MAKE SENSE TO HAVE TO SEND MY DRIVERS LICENSE IN THE MAIL OR PASSPORT WHEN I WAS STANDING RIGHT AT THE DOOR. YOU PEOPLE NEED TO SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE SERVING.

  8. Sep 9, 2021

This office is terrible! Very rude people and do not give you any information you ask for and it takes them forever to answer the phone if they even do. How these people keep their jobs is beyond me!

  9. Aug 21, 2021

I’ve been calling for two months. No return call.

I am trying to find out how You start to file for disability. What is the process and what do you need

  12. May 17, 2021

My experience with this Social Security Office has been positive. Each person I have talked to has been very kind and courteous to me. They told me what forms to send in, etc. I did send them through the post office with 'signature' required. Yes, it cost me much more than a stamp but I wanted to have some way to trace it. Sad I couldn't just drive across town and drop them off. I do believe it's time to move on from COVID and provide full service once again!!

  13. Mar 16, 2021

I am completely dumbfounded with this process. I have been divorced for almost a year and I just want to change my last name back to my maiden name and they refuse to process my information because I refuse to send in my original documents. This request is ridiculous. Why would I send in my Originals through the US MAIL? they lose my regular letters all the time. I am supposed to drive around with out my Drivers license? Just open back up so I can bring in the documents requested.

  14. Feb 24, 2021

Wow I have never talked to more unpleasant representatives. Its very sad I have tried to call asking how to get my sons social security number and the reps are not only rude, but when trying to get the address to send our original document to the representative got annoyed when i ask if the address street is 2 words. Wow how can you employ people who hate there job so much that this simple question annoys them. This last representative hung up on me when I asked to continue with giving me the address, after I waited quite awhile to get through. The representative earlier had an attitude like I was bugging her asking questions about receiving this information. The times we are in are very sad.

Good morning. I just finished speaking with Bridget and Mr. Grimes on the telephone. They were both very pleasant and kind. They made sure that I got the information I needed and I felt better when I got off the phone. Mr. Grimes completed a few items for me while we were on the phone and told me he would get back to me today or tomorrow to finish the interview. Great service.

  17. Jan 8, 2021

Pathetic service. This office refuses to do any work because of COVID and demands that original birth certificates and original ID be placed in the mail. I have been waiting six months to get a new SS card just to find out via a phone call that this office did not even process my application for a new card.and there is zero policy in place to allow for an appointment to show originals which would allow me to control these items and not the worthless US mail that is unreliable again because of COVID. COVID has become the go to excuse for the lazy, the worthless, the liars and the incompetent. Must be nice to be a government bureaucrat and get paid to do nothing. Worthless service.

I called the Clarksville TN SS Office. Spoke to a Ms. Lehman (sp?) I got married in October and sent in all the required documentation to change my name on my SS Card. I sent a letter requesting the change, the SS Form required, completed with all information, and a copy of my certified marriage certificate. I also sent a copy of my Drivers License and Passport, though that was not a specific requirement for my name to be changed. I stated so in the cover letter I mailed in. On December 8th I called and spoke to Ms. Lehman, she confirmed that they received my documents on Nov 9th and that it was being processed and I should have it in two more weeks. I told her that I'd called in November and was told 'two more weeks' before Thanksgiving, and I asked if there was a hold up. She told me she would send a message to the woman handling it and that 'you don't need to change your name, it's not required.' I told her that I know it isn't required, but I want to do it. She said that there shouldn't be a hurry because it's not legally required and argued with me about why I wanted to change my name. Finally I told her to please just send the message to whoever was dealing with it and ask them to please complete the request. On January 6th I called back, since it had been well over 2 weeks and I still had not received anything. This time I also got Ms. Lehman on the phone and I asked if there was a hold up since I had not received it yet. She proceeded to question my US Citizenship (I was born to military parents in the Panama canal zone) and told me that I had to send in my ORIGINAL drivers license and passport through the US Mail because I'd only sent copies. I told her that I sent my original certified marriage certificate, which was all that was required. She told me they couldn't take copies and that I needed to mail them my drivers license and passport (I recorded this entire call by the way.) I told her I wasn't going to mail my original drivers license or passport, but I would happily bring them in if they would make an appointment. She said they don't do appointments for name changes....I said you also don't need original drivers license or passport for name changes either. I asked to speak to a supervisor and waited on hold for several minutes. When she came back she told me that she could see that I was a US Citizen and that they didn't need my original drivers license or passport. It took her all of 2 minutes to complete the request for name change and tell me I would receive my new card in 7-10 business days. Why I had to go through her questioning my wanting to change my name and then questioning my citizenship, then telling me to mail in my drivers license and passport is completely beyond me. This woman should definitely NOT be dealing with the public with such an argumentative and misinformed attitude.
