Hi, do I need to be present in person for the social security number application or I can do it online?

Ms. W is Horrible at her job. She is rude and extremely unhelpful. I have no idea why they hired her. My 13 year old sister has more respect and knowledge than Ms White does. They’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find people to work here it seems.

I need to speak with someone ASAP. Apparently when I visited the offices on February 28 to find out information about applying for SS when I retire in August the person I spoke with was filling out an application for me as we spoke. I was overwhelmed with work at the time and we were rushed and I was tired, so the details of what took place just didn't register. After, when I heard no more and was unable to contact anyone in the office downtown, and as I was getting things ready for retirement this summer I went online and applied for SS online. The application was accepted and much to my surprise I received a letter about my account. The letter stated that an initial deposit of $12,000 would be made to my account and $1200 monthly would be deposited in my account. That seemed like way too much money since my records would show that I only paid into SS off and on. I spent some years living outside the US and since 1990 I have been paying into the State Teachers Retirement System in Ohio (not SS). I believe that this money was deposited erroneously. When I filled out an online application I assumed I might receive a small amount for the years that I had paid into the fund. Never could I have imagined that I would receive such a large payment; surely this is an error.

My name is A. Bailey, and I had an informative and helpful conversation with one of the staff at this location. I was calling to get information about Social Security and Medicare. The staff was friendly and well-versed on the information that I sought. I really appreciated the phone care that she provided to me. I am forever thankful. Earlier, I had been on the phone a long time with another office trying to get some information about the above aforementioned. I am glad I called another office. The caller (Ms Mrs Shadwick) was gracious and extremely intelligent. She provided me with the best information, Now I feel I can complete my visit with as much knowledge as possible to file for my deserved benefits. Sincerely, A grateful customer Ms Bailey

Your number has been spoofed and Scammers are calling saying that my SS# has been paused due to fraud. I know this is not the cause but the number calls Directly back to the Columbus Downtown office at 866.964.1723

  10. Jul 3, 2019

Please note that your phone number is being scammed and used by people in a call center, with thick accents (India or Pakistan), claiming to be the Social Security Administration and saying that people are being investigated for fraud. This is a scam attempting to rip people off, and they are using your phone number to do so. How do I report this when even tho they are criminals, they are using your phone number? Their accents are very thick, they are difficult to understand, and they are using the same type of recording used by the scammers claiming to be the IRS.
