My 17 year old is trying to get his license, I have misplaced his social security card. 2 months ago we came to office with copy of his birth certificate and info needed for a replacement and still have not received anything, he will be 18 in 2 weeks. He cannot get legal documentation to get a job, a bank account, or ID. This process is taking too long, does anyone check the mailbox at the Denton locate?

I just called to ask to set up an appointment to have my SS card updated, since I need an updated SS card to get my university to update my name and gender marker in their system, and when I asked if I could set up an appointment, the guy on the line said, 'No, you can't set up an appointment for that' and then immediately hung up on me. What is wrong with y'all?

Today I called to check on the status of my kids social security cards and got a representative. I informed her about me applying 3 times and never received my children social security cards she never once offered offer to help, I asked can I call headquarters she said no I’ll have to reapply. I said that is ridiculous and she said ok have a nice day and hung up on me. I called back saying ma’am why did you hang up on me she said because you we’re complaining… she is a customer service representative that’s what her job is to assist me. I asked can I speak to a supervisor she said ok call back hung up the phone on me again. I feel like she was very rude and disrespectful I never had a representative from this specific office be so rude to me that was so uncalled for.

I’ve called Denton SSA for my wifes Medicare Part B application needs and my needs at different times. Wait time was predicated on my place in the cue. The SSA specialist who are working from home answered my calls when my wait number came due; in both cases they addressed our needs professionally and I could not be happier with their services. Also; if a caller cares not to wait in a long cue they provide for the option of a call back when your cue number comes up for service. Well Done SSA Denton!

    How to get an appointment?

  13. Jan 11, 2021

They only provide one way to contact them. I called over 50 times and was on hold for as much as 20 hours total. I had to file a death benefit which is not allowed on line you must speak with someone. When on hold each time it gets right to the point of sounding like someone is picking up the phone then it just hangs up and you have to start all over again.

I spoke to the decision board and they told me that they made a decision back in April. My question is, is there something I needed to do to help in processing my application or is it just taking this long to process?

I just received a voicemail recording stating “Before we suspend your social security number and take legal action against you callus back as soon as possible. Again this is the social security administration and number to reach the department is 940-252-7286.” I called and they took my name and wanted to know my file number, which I was not given on the voicemail.
