Waited 30 mins not a single person could answer the phone just kept ringing. Do you even have staff in the building? Why pay them so much if they can’t answer a simple phone good luck trying to reach anyone.

  2. May 2, 2023

People hang up after waiting long periods then no one ever answers. Finally talk to some one and they screw up the start Date on medicare part b. Mid month!! Cannot get supplemental insurance because of the screw up. Now trying to speak w a supervisor and phone has rang at least 40 times and still ringing.

  3. Jan 17, 2023

  5. Sep 29, 2022

Horrible service. Called office and got recorded message that they are too busy to answer the phone. How do I make an appointment?

  6. Aug 25, 2022

I can not believe this government agency is still using COVID as an excuse for poor customer service. I’ve been trying to make appointment to no avail. Why?

  7. Aug 16, 2022

I have been trying to reach the Fredericksburg office by phone and keep getting disconnected.

  8. Aug 8, 2022

Horrible service. Considering on-going pandemic, should have more people on phone. Office visits cannot be even be scheduled and survey link does not work. Awful.

Yesterday, I wanted to get on my SS website. I could not get on, and my user name and password, disappeared. I tried 3 times to get on, and 3 times, I’d denied me access. I called up last night, and I didn’t get on. The person, at SS, told me to just follow the prompts and I could get on. She was done telling me, what she thought that I needed, and she hung up. Now, still am not on SS, and I cannot get to my site on SS.

  11. Jan 21, 2022

I had an appointment for a phone interview but i haven’t heard from anyone. I’ve called multiple times just to sit on hold and get hung up on!

  12. Jan 18, 2022

I need to schedule an appointment to get an updated Social Security card reflecting my new last name. What forms do I need to fill out and what documents do I need to bring with me?

  13. Jan 15, 2022

Not bad, not bad at all, my granddaughter arrives on time but had to get help walking in although she made an appointment a nice lady gets out of a car that use to be a supervisor there- she walks in with my granddaughter cuz we been waiting for a long while to receive an answer over the phone to come in. The phone (lines)representative was extremely occupied the waiting period was worth it... I appreciate the social Security office I hope you guys have a Happy New Year's. God bless you you sure need it.

I cannot get a hold of anyone in this office. I have tried calling the last couple of days. It tells me everyone is too busy then drops my call or it rings endlessly then drops it. I have called the national social security office and Medicare and they all tell me I need to get in contact with my local office, but there is no way I can! It’s unacceptable. They need a call cue or be able to leave a message or something.

  15. Nov 17, 2021

Tried 15 times over 2 days to try and reach a human. Major headache. All this so that I can pay taxes.

  16. Nov 8, 2021

A pure stone headache trying to get through you, have to wait several hours before anyone comes on the line, truthfully they are in no hurry to answer the phones.

  17. Sep 9, 2021

How can l make a appointment Social Security office in Fredericksburg? l need someone to see at office.

  18. Aug 3, 2021

Sent in documents for name change and got a denial letter stating I didn’t send I the correct documents but didn’t say what was missing. Called and was on hold over 15 minutes to then be told all representatives are busy and to call back another time. Seriously terrible customer service.

  19. Jun 25, 2021

Trying for 6 months now to get a new SSCard and SSCard with new number for two adopted children. Got information to send and it was returned...(not sure why) called to make an appt. Was told this was not important enough for an appt to call back later. This was the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania Office.

  20. Jun 21, 2021

I have called several times and keep getting silent air for several minutes, LIKE TEN, and then it hangs up on me! Now it just tells you to call back and hangs up on you. WHAT IS GOING ON! Get to work and help the public!

  21. Apr 19, 2021

I wanted to drop off a W-4v to make a change to the withholding percentage. It does not allow me to do this simple change on-line. I called twice to make an appointment since that is required. Friday the call was dropped after 9 minutes, today it was dropped after 10 minutes 11 seconds. Called again today and it would not even allow me to be parked in 'hold'. It said everyone is busy and told me to call again. This is really poor service. Why don't you have a simple envelope drop within the office door. This is ridiculous to have to make an appointment. I have been fully immunized a month ago and ran a running race Saturday with hundreds of participants. What are you hiding from? Haven't at least a few people in the office been vaccinated so you can have a minuscule amount of service. Before I retired I worked from home as a federal employee and we would not allow poor service like this to happen.

  22. Apr 10, 2021

I would like to make an appointment for name changed on my social security card. I have the court order change of name document.

  23. Feb 25, 2021

I have tried sending in my original documents after my divorce to have my last name changed back to my maiden name, and twice they were sent back saying they could not take photo copies. I've tried calling several times to tell them they were not photo copies but originals but the wait time on the phone is extremely long. And since you can't go into the office and make an appointments, is darn near impossible to get any help.

  24. Jan 26, 2021

I called two weeks ago to find out why they have no sent me the benefits of my SS, no calls back.

  25. Jan 19, 2021

To whom it may concern, I was told to mail in a letter of proof of release of incarceration to have my benefits re-instated. The letter was mailed to your office in the middle of December and i have not received a response..
