Been trying to talk with someone for 2 weeks …its a joke. No return call at all, no-one answers. EVER. Glad our tax dollars are been spend on quality service. SAD.

  2. Jan 3, 2023

I put in for my SSI benefits. Someone from the Richmond office replied and said that I was approved yet I have not received a notification in the mail.

I DEFY anyone to get through on the telephone. As you can see below, you are placed on hold for about 20 minutes, only to be told you will be connected to the next available agent, only to be then told to call back later and cut off/hung up upon. No WONDER social security is in the terrible financial situation it is. This must be the worst SS office within the worst US government entity known in the US.

How do I make an appointment at my local ssi office?

  6. Apr 14, 2022

Very frustrating waited for 17 minutes only to be cut off. Called back again with some hope that I could get my question answered. This time was on the phone for 19 minutes and was advised I would be connected to an agent only to be disappointed again! I was told to try again later. A total waste of effort! I realize it may have been a busy time, but to be given the hope that I could speak to someone and then feel like I’ve been given the run around!? Inexcusable.

  7. Jan 12, 2022

On hold for 30 minutes, then cut off. Multiple times.

  8. Jan 10, 2022

I need to know where I can pay on my over payment and also I moved and did a change of address?

  9. Dec 2, 2021

Been trying to reach the person who earlier left me a message saying she was in charge of my application. NEVER answers their phone.

  10. Sep 8, 2021

Does anyone have any of the managers names? they refuse to give it to me. Which they work for social security and are required to give a name. No matter what department they work in. I need it for when I go see my attorney.

  11. Jul 22, 2021

This office is by far the WORST. No one answers the phone, not even the office Supervisor. All the employees that work in that office give the rest of the SSA offices a real bad name!

  12. Jun 25, 2021

    I can't get a phone call through.

  13. Jun 8, 2021

I have been trying for weeks to get in touch with the person who earlier left me a message saying she was in charge of my application. I submitted my Part B application weeks ago but have heard nothing and cannot get anyone to return my phone calls. And the national 800 number does not appear to be functioning.

  14. Jun 8, 2021

What are our tax dollars going for? Definitely not for service. Taxation without representation IS illegal.

  15. Jun 6, 2021

Can you also fax paperwork in using your social security number on every page and put your mother's maiden name on there to connect because you have problems with the phone and it'll be better to have the proof that you fax the paper

  16. Jun 3, 2021

I was told I wouldn't have an appointment this year but just by coincidence I was checking my mail and they gave me a phone appointment but when I tried to find out why was the change I couldn't get in touch with nobody for hours and not at all

  17. May 30, 2021

I've been having problems getting in touch with social security building, I was reassured that I wouldn't have an appointment by an agent this year and shortly after I got a phone appointment so he wasn't telling the truth.

  18. May 19, 2021

Why is it when I try calling there's no way to get connected, nobody calls back, there's no way to leave a message, so just trying to find mailing address, it's very stressful.

  19. Mar 25, 2021

I am truly disappointed in the level of service that the elderly is receiving. My mother is 87 years old, not internet savvy and has a hard time hearing on the phone. She made an appointment for this Friday and was told on the phone there's no need her to come in because she can use the on-line services. How are you going to request folks to mail original drivers license's when they need to to drive or her medical card for a second ID when she needs it for appointments. I personally flew to California to assist her with the paperwork. When I tried to assist, I was told that I could not and she needs to do it herself. There needs to be a way for the elderly to receive the support in a timely manner or allow a family member to help.

  20. Mar 10, 2021

I requested the immediately cancellation of my medicare plan B. I DID NOT received any notification of my cancellation, I sent a letter requesting the cancellation. I moved to Mexico for at least 7 months.

  21. Feb 25, 2021

You received my passport sent at request of that Center. I have not received a response about this.

  22. Feb 16, 2021

This office cares nothing about US citizens. Disgusting waste of tax dollars. The lady who answers the phone is rude, not considerate of the disabled & hangs up on clients. Complaint made to OMB office.

  23. Jan 9, 2021

I keep getting the same form to fill out. I already filled it out. Payed for the stamp and sent it to you. Today, I got the same blank form with '2nd request' on it. I am not going to keep paying to send this form back to you as I see it as an error (not on my part) as I have made EVERY EFFORT TO COMPLY WITH YOUR REQUEST THE FIRST TIME AND AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DID NOT GET THE DOCUMENT I MAILED TO YOU. IF YOU WANT ME TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS AGAIN AND AGAIN, PLEASE SEND ME A POSTAGE PAID ENVELOPE. REGARDS.

  24. Dec 3, 2020

I applied online in mid Sept 2020 for benefits to start Dec 1, 2020. My application was directed to this office for processing and remains in process as of Dec 2, 2020. No contact whatsoever on progress. It fell through the cracks and no one cares.

  25. Nov 19, 2020

I have left 5 messages for extension 34382. I need clarification of requested documents. I had 20 days to turn in forms but person will not call me back so I know what is needed.

  26. Sep 18, 2020

They answered the call many times and leave the call o mute or hold and never helped I call other SSN offices and they answered and even they try to help me contact this office unfortunately if I live on Richmond this office is the only one can help me but customer service are not willing to help, they should hire people willing to help customers and just not people working to get easy money

  27. Sep 12, 2020

  30. May 18, 2020

I have been trying for over three years to be reimbursed for money taken from me via my 2015 tax return by mistake which was applied to an over payment account that had a ZERO balance for eight months. I never received anything from SS that indicated I owed any money or they were attempting to collect. I received a statement from SS stating I had a zero balance July 2015 but my 2015 tax return was absconded APRIL 2016. i provided evidence to SS of their mistake and they finally admitted it Mach 2019. It is now May 2020 and still have not been reimbursed. I'm being passed around from one person to another. The one person I finally got to call me back went on Maternity Leave for six months and my case stalled. I understand people make mistakes as we are human but for Heavens sake be accountable for your mistake and to your 'customers' I feel like I'm fighting King Kong with a wet popsicle stick.

The level of incompetency at this center is material for a sit-com...if it weren’t for the fact that this incompetency directly affects lives. I’m in agreement with the commenter about ignorance of their website. But this remark should include written information provided with benefit statements as well. Beware.

  32. Apr 7, 2020

Incompetent staff! They had even no idea about the information which was even written on SSA website! They seems unwilling to assist at all!
