The Wichita Social Security office is negligent in handling my daughter's case.

    Not easy to reach.

My daughter needs a social security card to get her driver’s license. I realize that there is a reason to be closed, but you want me to mail you my driver’s license and wait for you to process everything and send it back. What am I supposed to do while you have my ID? Will you send a driver? There has got to be a better way.

  8. Jun 24, 2021

can you tell me when your office will open?

  9. Jun 20, 2021

Are you making in person appointments yet?

  10. Jun 11, 2021

You all spelled my new last name wrong so now instead of being able to get other things changed I'll have to wait at least another month before I can start those changes. Why do I have to send everything in again when this was YOUR error and you had all of these documents already? Even the envelope I received my passport and marriage license back in had my name correct.

  11. May 26, 2021

Are you open for walk-in? I'm very technologically challenged and would like to ask a few questions in person.

  12. Apr 10, 2021

I really don't know what to do. You tell me if I mail the original documents to you that you would return them in 2 weeks. Four weeks later my dad gets a letter saying you will not give him a replacement social security card. He is going to be 86 years old. He GETS A SOCIAL SECIRITY CHECK EVERY MONTH AND HAS FOR 20 YEARS from you! He has lost eveything, his KS ID (he doesn't drive anymore) and you have his Medicare Card, He doesn't file taxes and hasn't for years because his only income is the CHECK YOU MAIL HIM EVERY MONTH! He has a birth certificate but you don't take that. He can't get a Kansas ID Card because he doesn't have a Social Security Card! I am at a loss as what to do! Can we come in and take care of this or not?

  14. Mar 16, 2021

I need to make an appointment to bring in social security documentation. I have tried calling Todd who is on the paper I received I have not heard back from him.

  15. Mar 15, 2021

I was needing to get a new Social Security card first one I have is starting to tear up. I was wondering how do I go about getting one ?

  16. Mar 3, 2021

I received 3 phone calls today, all claiming to be Social Security office canceling my card due to questionable activity. I pressed one on two of the calls. The first one I didn't answer they left a voice mail. I tried to make a report on the Soc. Sec. Admin. webpage, but the numbers came up as invalid.

  17. Mar 2, 2021

I sent copies as requested by the social security office, for a new social security card for my adopted child. I was told processing could take 3-5 weeks. At 5 weeks I called to ensure I will get my appointment. (and after being on hold multiple times) I am told my forms were not received and I am not on the list, and to resend. Frustrating that there is no way to electronically send documents, or just be put on the list to review the documents in person, since that is the only things happening in the office in person anyways. So frustrating, and wasteful of time and resources.

  18. Feb 22, 2021

I contacted your office about two weeks ago concerning my 2020 1099. I still have not received it.

  19. Jan 30, 2021

My wife sent in her documents to change her last name and when we got them back every single document was torn. The envelope was not torn and it was not torn in the mail. This is unacceptable. Those were original documents.

    A new Social Security card

  38. Jan 10, 2020

I witnessed racial profiling in the worse way today at the social security office in Wichita Kansas located at 3216 N Cypress St. The security officers need diversity training. There was a black male that was standing inside the doors when the office first opened. He was standing near the entry way but wasn't moving. The officer told him to go outside in the rain to stand. He advised the officer he was cutting in line merely standing by the doorway. Needless to say the office told him he would not be allowed to enter the building. He was refused service. I have never witnessed anything more humiliating in my life.

I’m wondering why my money is not on my card today & I got bills to pay

  40. Aug 9, 2019

Need to change my address. Computer will not let me in.

  41. May 30, 2019

Your people are so rude. They are not educated to answer questions. I received, $8,800 from my deceased son's back pay. I received a letter stating I was over paid by $2,900 and have too pay it back. Stated instead of splitting the money 2 ways between my ex husband and I, it is now split 3 ways between me, my ex and his wife. They both received checks for 5,800 each. The step mother did not raise my son. Why is a step mom entitled to money? My son's father had not spoken to him in 15 yrs. I am the one who paid for funeral and to get a head stone. My son has been dead almost 2 yrs, and your agency is so messed up. My ex plans to cash both checks and send money to me. How can I ensure that you don't come back on him and say 'We over paid you?' The m,an I spoke to was so abrupt and rude. All he kept saying was 'That's the way the law is, appeal it.' I am still grieving my guts out. Why can't the person who begins the case, stay with it until it has been completed. My case has been handed down to so many different people that it is so messed up.

  42. Apr 16, 2019

Your automated phone system is very unorganized and extremely un- user friendly! Trying to speak with a REAL PERSON is almost impossible! Your organization is a prime example of government red tape and waste!
