It is a big office with a ton of seating on metal benches. When you come in, there is a police office on-site, sitting at a desk as you first come inside. The waiting area to the left, and the restrooms behind the security desk behind it to the right; as well as a water fountain. Right in front of the entrance doors is a place to sign in and get a number. The computer has a touch-screen and is pretty easy to use and self-explanatory. Waiting can be short, or you might be there up to an hour or better, depending on what day and time you arrive. During the pandemic, it is by appointment ONLY. There are about four kiosk windows in the waiting area, and a computer free to log in to the SSI located to the left of those windows. Most of the workers are kind and courteous, but there are a couple that are very rude. I have complained about them a time or two, but I am not sure it matters. Those ones seem like they feel it's their mission in life to demean you and mistreat you (I guess just because you're on SSI)..like the one lady who accused me o "throwing" my papers at her. And her and another lady there seem like they're trying to find any reason they possibly can, (during their criminal-like interrogation of you) to get you kicked off help. But, like I said, most of them treat you decently as a human being ought to be treated. May God bless THOSE ones.
I was told to send in my drivers license to take care of my issue. I asked what do I do if I need my license. There is no answer to that. Not helpful at all.

How long will it take to get a Social Security card?

How long would it take to get by mail my Disability Benefits Award Letter?
An award letter, AKA award notice, is what shows that a claim for benefits has been approved.
The Award letter is usually mailed to the recipient within a few months of Social Security approving their benefit application.
The Social Security office does not have an established deadline for mailing the award letters. Some claimants will get their letters even after Social Security has issued their first benefit payment or earlier than that.
