This is very frustrating.. I need my SS Card replaced asap and filled out the form SS-5. Provided them the SS5 form as requested and drop this off to the Jamaica office back in April and now Parent's name were not verified. it's been 15 months.. if all the restaurant are at 100% capacity why cant the SS Office at least have someone onsite. I cannot even setup a schedule online? I will need to call the number for the local office. At least NY DMV, you can schedule online and have a check list of what's needed.

Hi, I sent documents to change the name on my social security card - my job ID and marriage certificate to the Social Security office in Jamaica. Last month, I received a call from Ms. Hart who informed me that my form was not filled out correctly and that I need more documentation. She said that I will be mailed a letter explaining this and have my documents returned to me. To date, I have not received a letter nor my documents. These documents are original and I need them returned to me. Thank you!

I have called the office a few times and the representatives are rude and hang up or disconnect the line. Some don't even respond when you get through, they just automatically disconnect the line. No one is overseeing them as they are working from home now.

I called the office the agent who responded to my call wasn't allowing me to explain what's going on with the case. Very rude and end up hanging up the phone. Now I have to be force to go in person. Very frustrating.

  23. Dec 28, 2020

I have been trying to verify if social security has received my documents to change my name for the past hour on the phone and couldn’t do so due to the representatives on several occasions during the call answering them and immediately hang up. What a professional treatment? One cannot change their names on line and must mail documents to SS and social security does not confirm via mail or email of receipt and due to Covid, in person service is not permitted. What can you do for me since you’re asking for feedback? That Jamaica office had once lost documents that I sent via return receipt.

I had an interview about getting SSN on July 22nd and gave all the necessary documents at Jamaica Card Center. Do you know any information about my case status?

  28. Aug 10, 2020

I sent response to your letter as requested & mailed it to SS Admin, PO Box 314800, Jamaica NY 11432-4092 as requested as I included more material than would fit into small envelope you sent me. I mailed the larger envelope on 8/5/2020 and had it tracked (extra cost). As of now, my response is still waiting to be picked up from the PO Box 314800, Jamaica NY. As you only gave me 15 days to respond, I responded back to you ASAP. Please go and pick up my mailing to you. I have been waiting almost 4 years for SS to correct my file. (I've been told that my wait time is 1 hr./45 minutes and I need to get up.) As to this web-site, I'm glad for the opportunity to write this out - instead of continuing to wait - as you have not picked up my response to your letter!!

Really long but it's about having patience to get help upstairs

  1. Posted by User onFriday, April 2, 2021

It was very frustrating! The office representative didn’t even let me talk and check what documents I submitted. He just said it will take 10 days. But after 10 days I got the call my application was denied for not having the signature in naturalization certificate. When I called back to make in person appointment they said there is no appointment available until May. To be honest, they have the authority and how they are using it to treat us is very frustrating and sad. It looks like they don’t care about people who are in need of help. There was no professionalism.
