Is the drop box at the Manassas office accessible on the weekends?

  2. Aug 25, 2022

I repeatedly tried to get an appointment. With each call I followed all the prompts and waited only to have my call ended after 15-17 minutes of holding. I have thrived to do this online and am now locked out because the site won’t recognize my password and keeps telling me that it’s wrong.

I have called so many times and can never get through to someone. The machine doesn't even let you leave a message.

I came to the office and tried to drop off something, and there is no drop off box. The security officer did not pick up my letter and told me that I have to post. Why can't he just pick it up and put in the inbox for the office? You do not let me through to the office with your phone to make any appointment, and I cannot even drop a letter addresses to you. Please let me know how can I obtain your service?

I have been calling for weeks. I called 5 times today. 2 representatives even picked say hello 2 times and hang up. I urgently need my initial ssn my employer have been asking for it for a long time. I already have a work permit and all my information. 7weeks ago I talked to an agent that took all my information and told me I will have a call to get my appointment. I am still waiting.

I have requested a copy of my 2018 1099 over a month ago and have not received it. My mother did as well. She called again and could not get through. I have tried two days to get through. I am put on hold and then after several minutes I am disconnected. Please assist as I have to file my taxes.

4/9/21 @ 11:45AM EST: Called the Manassas VA Office today and spoke to a representative regarding a name change application that was received by their office 4/1/21. The agent was completely rude and could not provide the details of my records as it stands with SSA. What is the purpose of calling your local office if agents working there do not have access to your file for SSA? I specifically asked whether or not she saw my film name as I have provided her, she could not tell me whether or not my mailed in application was received, she could not provide the status of the office’s operations in terms of lead time for processing and most of all she could not provide a courteous mannerism to customer service. Constantly spoke over me and never let me finish speaking. In what world does a federal/state employee are trained to speak to the public in this way and not provide adequate assistance?

My experience is very similar to the last commenter's. I have called this office in July of 2020, immediately after receiving the birth certificate of my adopted son, to obtain an SSN for him. I was told by an agent that 'due to corona virus, our offices are only processing life and death matters, and you have to call us back in at least 3 months'. Fast forward to November, I call again. This time another employee says 'oh no, you have to file by mail. Download SS-5, attach his documents and send it to the office via USPS'. So I did that right after I collected the confirmation letter from the daycare that the child is alive and enrolled there (yes, you have to do that, because 'fraud!'). I receive the originals back in the beginning of February, no letter along those, nothing at all, just the documents in a quite rough shape (when sent in, they were in perfect state). So I start calling to follow up three weeks later and here are the responses I get: 1 call (3 weeks after receiving the originals) - you need to call in a week, nothing in the system. 2 call (4 weeks after receiving the originals) - we will provide the information to the manager 3 call (5 weeks after receiving the originals, Tuesday) - the information will be supplied to the manager, you need to call back in 2 days. 4 call (two days after the 3rd one) - you have to come in person to apply, and we only schedule appointments at least 3 months into the future. This is an awful way to treat people. Information that conflicts each other, blaming the customer ('You will need to prove to the manager why you didn't apply immediately' - I did! I did!). Not really sure what to do here, I guess I'll wait for the scheduled appointment that will be sent in mail.

Well, initially I was thrilled to be talking to a human so quickly but realized FAST that help was the last thing I was getting. When I had called previously trying to make sure I was following the process correctly I was given different information by a different employee than I was today. So now I don't know which procedure to follow. Which employee was lying? Also, I was interrupted so many times that I literally had to yell 'STOP' at the employee to beg of her to let me ask my question. When did customer service become, 'allow me to interrupt you to the point of tears?'. In no way did I feel heard, understood, or helped. Thanks for nothing Social Security Office Manassa, VA....thanks for nothing.

I would like to find out how much I will receive monthly as a survivor, as my late husband died 5 years ago. I will be 60 years old on my next birthday and need the income. I had previously called but was told I would not be told over the phone, I would have to talk to someone face to face. I would like to make an appointment to come in and talk to someone. Thank you,

Hi officer, I have dialed the SSA office phone (800) 772-1213 for a week but no reply. My husband has made a call to apply for his new social security number and the officer in the phone answered that will staff call him to make a reservation these days. But we have waited for more than ten days and no call comes in.
